Bio

I'm a native New Yorker in my early 20s. -- Born in (the wrong part of) The Bronx. I went to an exclusive  prep school on the Upper East Side, Progressve public school on the Upper West and college in Chelsea.

When you live in Manhattan you never have enough of the following things: space, style, money, and status. That sounds awful, I know, but I'm not like that really. What I want is to be respected in my field(s), own my own place in the city-- and further into the future, start a family.

My career is on the right track, I'm a corporate menswear designer. But this is New York and one needs more than one hustle.I thought why not start a blog? Natty is selling product, why don't I? Studios around the corner from me are going for 500K--I'd better get started.

There are enough Menswear Blogs out there and I wasn't  interested in starting another. Outside of Men's Clothing I have another love: Interiors. I enjoy building things, refurbishing furniture, space planning strategizing.

I thought about a class I took in college, The history of Menswear. We spent sever weeks on the concept of the dandy and i thought it would be an interesting blog concept.

Wikdipedia, a bastian of reliable information :|, defines dandy as:
"..A man who places particular importance upon physical appearance, refined language, and leisurely hobbies... Historically, especially in late 18th- and early 19th-century Britain, a dandy, who was self-made, often strove to imitate an aristocratic lifestyle despite coming from a middle-class background."
While there are a few things in this description that make me cringe, the bones are there. I'm a single guy who understands the importance of appearance, decorum, style and has the desire to trascend his humble wrong-side-of-the-track  begninings.

Welcome to THE DANDY HOME where you'll find my pontifications on all of things aesthetic and maybe a few new items to purchase for your home...
